How many cabins do you have? At present we have one luxury waterfront log cabin on our property, it's the one in the pictures! In the future two more cabins of very similar design are planned on this property. All Cabins will all face the river will be at least 250 feet apart. Are your cabins really new? Yes! First cabin was completed in September, 2011. Its a brand new luxury honeymoon cabin rental. You will feel like you're staying at a 5 star hotel. Our cabins are authentic log homes built in Appalachian style. Outside is untouched mountain beauty with a gorgeous trout stream right outside your front porch! Do the cabins have a Television, Sattelite TV and DVD player? We feature DirecTV Sattelite service, 42" Flat Screen HDTV, a DVD player & an extensive DVD movie collection with recent popular titles, please enjoy! How many people can our cabins accommodate? Our cabins have two very spacious master bedrooms with king pillowtop beds and full baths. We can accommodate 4 guests very comfortably. Additionally up to two small children can sleep in the living room. What is the minimum length of stay. We have a 2 night minimum, even on weekends and Holidays! This is a convenience for our guests who can only get away from work for a couple of days. We do accommodate guests for Single night stay for additional $49, based on availability. Our cabin is set just few feet from Shelton Laurel River, which is a premier trophy trout fishing destination. You can fly fish in this beautiful mountain stream and keep up to 7 trout per person per day! Asheville airport is about an hour to the South. Knoxville, TN is about an hour and a half. Greenville/Spartanburg, SC and Charlotte, NC are about 2 hours. Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN are approximately 4 hours. How is the cell phone reception on the property? We are able to make and receive calls from the cabin. However we have Verizon and we found that to work better than AT&T. The signal is not full blast but its ok. How far is the edge of Shelton Laurel River from the cabins? Our cabin is about 50-60 feet from the water. If we find native American arrowheads on the property, may we keep them? We are in the old Cherokee country. Arrowheads have been found on our property. You are welcome to look and keep what you find. How far apart are are the cabins? Right now there is only one riverfront luxury log cabin on our property. In the future there will be two more very similarly desinged cabins built at least 250 feet apart. There will be total privacy and seclusion at each cabin. How far is the property from Hot Springs, Marshall, Asheville, NC and the Biltmore Estate? We are about 15 minutes from Hot Springs & Marshall, 45 minutes from Asheville & about 50-55 minutes from The Biltmore Estate. Some local dining choices are Mountain Magnolia and The Iron Horse Station are downtown Hot Springs across the street from The Hot Springs Spa. Zuma Coffee in Marshall is great for coffee, soups and sandwiches, they also have free Wi-Fi. Or you can visit our Area Information Page for many other dining options. What is there to do in the area? Please visit our Area Information Page, it is loaded with activity choices in Hot Springs, Marshall, Asheville and the surrounding area. What should we bring to the cabins? Groceries, personal toiletry items like soap, shampoo, shower gel etc. Bring hairdryer and clothes iron if you need to. Rain jacket, sunglasses, comfortable shoes, hat, layers of clothes in winter. Some good books, extra DVD's if you wish (we have a large selection of great recent moves on DVD also). Camera and accessories. Binoculars. Maps. We provide all of the cooking and dining necessities in the cabins, however, you may want to being specialty appliances such as batter mixer, blender etc. If you forget something from toiletries or need additional grocery items, there is a small convenience store with gas station 1.5 miles up the road from us on HWY 212 open 8 am to 8 pm Monday - Saturday and noon to 8pm on Sundays. Ingles Supermarket is on 25/70 in Marshall. Its a full size supermarket and they have a nice selection of locally microbrewed craft beer. You will pass it on your right if you come up from Asheville area. Otherwise, it's about 20 minutes from our property. Don't forget to check the weather for your trip. Hot Springs, NC Weather Do I need charcoal for the grill? We have a new deluxe full size gas grill on the front porch. Propane is provided, please do not use charcoal in our gas grill. We do have a charcoal grill as well, if you wish to use it dont forget to bring some charcoal. Where is the nearest grocery store and gas station? There is a small convenience store with gas station 1.5 miles up the road from us on HWY 212. Its open 8am to 8pm, and noon to 8pm on Sundays. There's also an Ingles supermarket on 25/70 in Marshall about 20 minutes from us. Do our cabins have air conditioning and heat? We feature ductless mini split climate control systems in living room and each master bedroom. They are super quiet and you will always be comfortable, just set the temperature you want in either room using the remotes. You'll love the cool summer nights, fresh night air is amazing, and as you will discover, AC will rarely be needed. Instructions are provided on the backs of all 3 remotes. Is smoking allowed in the cabins? There is absolutely NO SMOKING inside the cabins. If you smoke, please do so on the porch. Per our rental policy, credit card on file will be charged $250 if our NO SMOKING policy is violated. Can we bring pets? We love pets, but we also want to provide the cleanest, best possible luxury accommodations for our guests. NO PETS of any kind are allowed anywhere on our property. Thank you for understanding. We have a fire ring in front of the cabin by the river, and benches around it. It's the only place camp fires are permitted. Dont forget the hot dogs & marshmellows! We do not provide firewood, if you want to have a fire in the fire ring, you should bring some. Do cabins have telephones? Cabins do not have telephones, but we get cell reception on the property. Verizon Wireless seems to work better here than other carriers. Can I arrive on a motorcycle? Yes! We are Motorcycle Friendly! Access to our property is very safe and level. No four wheel drive is necessary for access. Please drive only on the gravel, no driving or parking on the grass. Is internet connection provided? We will soon be providing free high speed Wi-Fi. Bluff Mountain Outfitters in Hot Springs has internet access and fax. Also there is an internet cafe few doors down from them. Zuma Coffee Downtown Marshall has free Wi-Fi, you can bring your laptop. Can I bring a trailer or an RV? RV's, Motor Homes and Travel Trailers are not allowed on our property. Light passenger vehicles and motorcycles only. How is the weather in your area? Winter weather will most likely not affect your safe access or arrival here. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains but we have a very level access from the highway to the property.
